Extracurricular Activites
- Battle of the Books-Students in grades 5-8 participate in the HR Battle of the Books contest. Winners are eligible to participate at the Archdiocesan level.
- Blaze-Blaze is an outreach ministry for middle school girls through our that seeks to reach their hearts with the powerful love of Christ and offers a unique way to help grow their understanding of the truths of our Catholic faith
- Kindergarten/8th Buddy Program-Students in grades K and 8 are assigned buddies. Buddies will complete activities together throughout the year.
- Cardinal News Network (CNN)-Students in grades 6-8 can participate in HR's morning news program. During morning news, students will learn the fundamentals of video production and broadcasting.
- Chess Club (HSA)-Chess Wizards provides challenging chess lessons for all experience levels, fun team activities and so much more!
- Coding Club (HSA)-In partnership with The Coder School, students in grades K-8 explore the world of coding, robotics, and artificial intelligence in a fun and interactive way.
- Drama Club/School Musical-Students can participate in the HR Drama Club, which puts on the annual school musical.
- Field Day- In the spirit of good sportsmanship, a day of competition and fun is arranged by appropriate grade levels and guided by the HR PE teachers. HR 7th graders are the leaders of Field Day.
- Golf Team-Middle School
- MLK Poster and Essay Contest-The purpose of this contest is to encourage student awareness of Dr. King’s conviction for love and peaceful communities that uphold the sacred value of all lives within them.
- Nativity Pageant (Grade 3)-Students in grade 3 audition and participate in the annual Nativity Pageant.
- NJHS Study Buddies-Middle school NJHS students tutor younger students during Homework Hall.
- Oratorical-Students in grades 6-8 participate in the annual OLA Catholic School Oratorical contest. Winners are eligible to compete at the Archdiocesan level and go on to the state competition.
- Prayer Families-A school-wide prayer program that consists of 28 prayer families throughout the school. The families are multi-grade level groups and will meet monthly. The entire faculty, staff, and administration advise the families.Students in grades four through eight are invited to participate in the school Mass as lectors, altar servers, and music ministers. Outstanding students are selected to serve as Liturgy Leaders (ushers, lector trainers, and altar server captains).
- Praise Choir-Students can join the praise choir and participate in leading the music during weekly Mass
- Religion Bee-Students in grades 4-8 participate in the annual HR Religion Bee. The winner is eligible to participate at the Archdiocesan level.
- School Liturgy-Students in grades 4-8 are invited to participate in the school Mass as lectors, altar servers, and music ministers.
- Scouts
- Spelling Bee-Students in grades four through eight participate in the annual HR Spelling Bee. The winner is eligible to participate at the Archdiocesan level.
- Student Ambassadors-Students in grades seven and eight are selected to provide a welcoming atmosphere, share the spirit of our community, and articulate the mission of our school to visitors.
- Student Council-The student government is comprised of elected officers and class representatives for grades five through eight.

- Yearbook- Students in grades 6-8 are eligible to apply to participate in the HR Yearbook Club. 8th-grade students are eligible to apply to be the Chief Editor.
