Annual Fund FAQs
The Annual Fund is our school’s most important yearly fundraising campaign. It supports the day-to-day operations of Holy Redeemer by helping to close the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student. Most Annual Fund dollars go directly into the current year’s operating budget, enhancing every area of our school. A portion—about 10%—is set aside for future capital needs to ensure we can maintain and improve our facilities over time.
Like most Catholic schools in the Archdiocese, Holy Redeemer intentionally sets tuition below the full cost of education to keep it more accessible to families. The Annual Fund helps bridge that gap. Unlike tuition, donations to the Annual Fund are tax-deductible, providing a financial benefit to many donors
Absolutely! Every gift matters. Your participation is the most important part—no matter the size of your gift. When many families give together, we achieve big results. We hope to have every family participate in the Annual Fund each year to show the strength and unity of our community.
The Annual Fund runs from July 1 through June 30, in line with our fiscal year. All contributions for the year must be received by June 30. Each September, we host a fun and spirited Annual Fund contest to encourage pledges and donations from current families early in the year
The Annual Fund is unique—it’s a direct gift to the school without receiving goods or services in return, which means it’s fully tax-deductible. Other events like the Gala or school nights out are wonderful for building community and raising additional funds, but they often involve purchases or event costs that limit the tax benefits and reduce the net funds raised. We also keep Annual Fund overhead low so that your full gift goes directly to support the school. That’s why it’s our top fundraising priority each year.
Holy Redeemer does not receive Archdiocesan funding for daily operations. However, all Archdiocesan schools receive an annual block grant to help provide financial aid to families in need.
Yes! Donating appreciated stock may offer tax advantages. To learn more or initiate a stock transfer, please contact our Advancement Office.
Thank you for supporting GOAL! It’s a wonderful program that helps eligible incoming students afford a Catholic education. However, GOAL contributions are state tax redirections, not donations, and cannot be used for daily school operations. The Annual Fund is essential to running our school—so we hope you’ll consider supporting both efforts if you’re able.
