"Holy Redeemer provided me with an excellent academic foundation that contributed to my future successes and a continued intellectual curiosity. However, even more impactful was the HR community and its ability to rally around its members in times of need. My dad passed away while I was in 8th grade at HR, and I am still extremely grateful for the enormous outpouring of love and support I received from everyone at Holy Redeemer and for the way it inspired me to do the same for others."  - Robbie Gibson, HR Alumnus, currently studying for a PhD in Chemistry at Stanford University.

School Facts

Opened in the fall of 1999, Holy Redeemer Catholic School is a regional Archdiocesan Catholic school located in Johns Creek, Georgia, a vibrant northern suburb of Atlanta. In spite of its short history, Holy Redeemer has made a significant impact on the community. Its reputation speaks of a rigorous academic program paralleled with a strong Catholic education. A comprehensive curriculum in mathematics, science, language arts, foreign language, social studies, fine and performing arts, and physical education is complemented by athletics, student activities and support services to provide a cohesive, encompassing kindergarten through eighth grade school experience.

A combination of contemporary and traditional design, the physical plant offers many "best practice" features essential for education. Laptops and Chromebooks, fully networked in a wireless environment, provide students the opportunity to experience the benefits of technology incorporated into the academic curriculum. Classrooms are grouped according to the developmental level of children (K-2, 3-5, 6-8), each opening into a large central common area. These centers provide a dynamic space for large or multiple groups of children to gather for instruction, special presentations, projects, and other similar activities.

Our media center houses more than 25,000 volumes in its circulation collection. The reference collection includes both print and electronic media. In addition, a closed circuit television system and video production studio offer student "news anchors" a creative opportunity to deliver daily announcements and our families the chance to lead us in prayer at the beginning of each day.

Holy Redeemer Catholic School is accredited through Cognia (formerly AdvancEd), and is a member of the National Catholic Education Association and the Atlanta Area Association of Independent Schools.  All teachers are certified.

69% of instructional staff hold advanced degrees. The faculty has an average of 19 years teaching experience.

The school day begins at 7:55 A.M. and ends at 3:10 P.M. Children may arrive as early as 7:00 A.M. and gather in the school cafeteria under a teacher's supervision until dismissed to their classrooms. An optional hot lunch service is provided, or students may choose to bring their lunch from home. An aftercare program is offered daily from 3:15 P.M. till 6:00 P.M. Additionally students in grade 5 through 8 may attend Homework Hangout from 3:10 P.M. to 3:40 P.M. daily to begin their assignments and seek teacher assistance if needed. Extra-curricular and co-curricular activities provide students opportunities to develop skills and explore interests in athletics, service, and the fine arts.

Students are considered for admission to Holy Redeemer Catholic School on the basis of the family’s desire to embrace and support our mission of Catholic education, and the child’s academic ability and conduct.
