Holy Redeemer Catholic School Mission Statement:
Holy Redeemer Catholic School is a faith-centered community dedicated to the Catholic Tradition rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our school challenges students to reach their full potential in academics, character and faith.
Holy Redeemer Catholic School Pre-K 4 Values:
To develop the whole Pre-K child in preparation for a continued K-8 Catholic education through an explorative curriculum that covers language, spiritual, social/emotional, and primary school skills development in a nurturing environment.
Holy Redeemer Catholic School strives to provide a Pre-K 4 curriculum that develops the whole child in the areas of:
Faith:
Our Pre-K 4 program integrates spiritual development into all subject areas, emphasizing themes such as God's Gift of People, God's Gift of the World, God's Gift of Ourselves, and Growing as God's Family together. Through these themes, children will explore their spirituality and develop a deeper understanding of their faith in everyday learning. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to attend Mass with the Holy Redeemer community twice a month, fostering a sense of belonging and spiritual growth.
Early Literacy:
Our Pre-K 4 program focuses on nurturing early literacy skills by introducing children to the exciting world of phonics. Through engaging activities, songs, and interactive storytelling, students will explore letter sounds and begin to recognize simple words, laying a strong foundation for reading. This hands-on approach enhances vocabulary development and fosters a lifelong love for learning and language.
Language and Communication:
Our Pre-K 4 language and communication program focuses on developing speech skills by enhancing listening comprehension and encouraging children to speak conversationally. Through engaging activities, students will practice forming sentences verbally, with an emphasis on sentence structure and clarity. This approach aims to build confidence in verbal expression and support effective communication in everyday interactions.
Numbers and Math:
Our Pre-K 4 program is designed to spark curiosity and build foundational math skills through the exploration of counting, addition, subtraction, geometry, and spatial sense. Children will engage in hands-on activities that will introduce them to measurement concepts and pattern recognition, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By connecting math to everyday experiences, we aim to instill a love for numbers and a solid understanding of basic math principles.
Handwriting:
Our Pre-K 4 handwriting program inspires a love for writing by motivating young learners through engaging activities and creative expression. Children will explore writing as a process, understanding the steps from idea generation to creating legible letters and words. By learning conventions in writing, students will gain confidence in their ability to communicate effectively and develop essential skills for future academic success.
Science:
Our Pre-K 4 science program encourages young learners to explore and observe the wonders of the natural world through hands-on activities in physical science, life science, and earth and space science. Through guided discovery and interactive experiments, children will develop curiosity and critical thinking skills as they learn about the properties of common objects, the diversity of living organisms, and the dynamics of our planet and the sky. This program aims to instill a lifelong fascination with science and a deeper appreciation for God’s creation.
Social Studies:
Our Pre-K 4 social studies program introduces young learners to the diverse world of people and cultures, fostering an understanding and appreciation for diversity and community. Through engaging activities, children explore basic economics, geography, and the concept of citizenship, building a foundation for understanding their place in the world. This program aims to develop critical thinking and social awareness, preparing children to become informed and compassionate members of society.
Social/Emotional:
Our Pre-K 4 program is dedicated to nurturing social and emotional growth by helping children build a strong self-concept and develop essential self-regulation skills. Through interactive activities and guided play, students will form meaningful relationships with others and enhance their social awareness. This supportive environment encourages empathy, cooperation, and confidence, laying the groundwork for healthy emotional well-being and interpersonal skills.
