Technology

Technology is integral to our curriculum as an instructional tool that is used by teachers at all levels to engage students and to support the learning process in the preparation for higher levels of education. Technology staff members provide knowledge and support for classroom teachers to provide a seamless integration of technology into instruction. We believe that the use of classroom technology contributes to student engagement and collaborative learning.

All students are issued Chromebooks for in class and home usage allowing teachers to integrate content in this age of digital learning. In addition, LCD projectors, document cameras, and numerous supplemental print and multimedia resources aid teachers in the presentation of content material. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the school and the entire campus is password secured. Every classroom is equipped with an interactive Viewsonic board allowing student and teacher access to a variety of tools and resources to assist in classroom instruction and collaborative learning.

The technology program offers keyboarding, coding, presentation, publishing, graphic design, database programming and other tools that help the students communicate in various ways. Students are taught proper Internet usage and safety beginning in the primary grades. Research skills are explicitly and progressively taught and research databases allow students the necessary resources to support their units of study. A sequential program is in place to enhance keyboarding skills for intermediate and middle school students.  These skills are further refined and integrated into all the core subject areas as students use them to complete required assignments and projects for classes.
